I pulled up to laser tag just as this transit van was parking. I thought for a sec it was a commercial vehicle, but then a mom popped out and began unloading her 7 kids, several from car seats. This was a step above minivan level, and I told her so.

As someone who has driven a new Transit, I would much rather sell the kids for science than drive one daily.

When you need to look outside the realm of passenger cars to haul your herd I think you have too many kids...

Im just here f or the K900. Hold my calls...

This must be replacing the Econoline as the home school family vehicle of choice.

You should consider changing your headline before the GMC legal team comes calling.

My next door neighbor DDs one of these (though he also has 2 other cars that don’t seem to ever move):
I thought it was just for work, until I saw him loading his 2 little boys (between 3 and 6) into 2nd row car seats in the thing. It’s much more bigly than a Transit.
![]() 01/02/2019 at 17:28 |

And he almost NEVER posts pictures of that car!!!

So very bigly. My FIL has one. You don’t truly appreciate I rarely truely appreciate how large it is. Until we park one of his Chevy work vans near it. The sprinter looks like it could eat the Chevy. Also I bought home a 17 foot garage door in it. With the doors shut. My whole car isn’t 17 feet long.

There is still the 12 passenger Chevy van. For a bit less money. But he Transit is a muuuuuch nicer vehicle.

IKR?? What gets me is how TALL it is. It’s gotta be 3 feet too tall to get in his garage- I bet you could stand up in the second row!!!!
![]() 01/02/2019 at 17:39 |

I’m 6’2” and I can stand up in a Sprinter. I think the ceiling is 6’6”

Wait, they still sell the Express passenger van? That thing is 24 years old!
Looks like the Econoline isn’t quite dead either, and that’s 27 years old.
When are they going to let these things die?

What kind of science?
![]() 01/02/2019 at 18:02 |

I suspect that view could change if you have 7 kids all touching each other. But I don’t know, and I’m not willing to do that experiment.

As long as you have the money and energy to properly raise them all, I won’t judge. But I also wouldn’t do it myself.
Also, how have you been?

I don’t want to start a mass crisis!

She performed just as you would expect on the 900 mile road trip here. My mom didn’t understand why we didn’t fly up...

You know, it’s good to know the Econoline is still around.

It’s pretty! And has powerful V8! Give us more of it!!

When people stop buying them I guess. I saw a newer one pass me in the interstate. It was like a ghost out of the 70s

Let em come!

Imagine the parties when they’re teenagers.

I washed and waxed it in Christmas. I need to do a review.

Hopefully he gets something else by then - otherwise that thing is a teenage pregnancy waiting to happen...

I’m not surprised. I wonder if that thing would even fit under this bridge:

Letting him come is how that mom got 7 kids.
![]() 01/02/2019 at 19:36 |

How did she react?
![]() 01/02/2019 at 20:05 |

Yeah, but most people don’t budget out multiple kids. At least I haven’t seen that happen. Maybe people do.
I’ve been good. I FINALLY got another job. It was a slight pay cut , but it’s down the street from my house, I work alone, and the shop owners are super awesome.

I think the Econoline should only be available in the cutaway model, for buses, ambulances, etc.

Oh yeah, a Sprinter 2500 High Roof 170" Wheelbase is 107.3" tall, or 8' 11.3" tall.

It is. They’ve dropped all the other versions.

She smiled/grimaced in that way that said she appreciated it and told me it was the best way to tote 7 kids. I said the next level up is Winnebago, and she laughed.

Finally! Now we get more of your cherubic demeanor.

Holy cow.

Ha. I don’t think that accurately described my bitch fests. I think it was more akin to Lewis Black being Lewis Black .
And then:
But then I pulled a half baked move when I lost my shit.
![]() 01/03/2019 at 01:53 |

in all fairness 7 kids, they’d need a bit of crap if on holidays, so it’d still be crammed full.

Whatever you need to get through the day!

I’m sure.

Things are much better now that I’m the only technician and the shop manager. I was joking with a friend of mine that I need to get a hat that says “manager” on it so when I customer asks to speak to the manager I can put the hat on as a passive aggressive way of saying “ha ha.”
But so far customers have been very pleasant. It may very well be because I'm in a better mood and not looking to piss someone off.

Piece of mind is priceless. And people do respond to it.
